LensBite is an AI-powered food calorie analyzer. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
- Food photos you submit for analysis
- Analysis results (food name, calories, macronutrients)
- Firebase UID (when you sign in with Google)
- Your name and email (from your Google account, when you sign in)
- Device IP address (hashed, for anonymous rate limiting)
- Daily calorie goal and water intake settings (stored locally on your device)
How We Use Your Information
- Food photos are sent to a third-party AI provider for analysis. Photos are not stored on our servers.
- Analysis results are stored in Firebase Firestore to sync your history across devices (signed-in users only).
- Your Firebase UID is used to store and retrieve your personal scan history and subscription status.
- Hashed IP addresses are used server-side to enforce daily scan limits for anonymous users. Raw IP addresses are never stored.
- Firebase Analytics collects anonymised usage data to help us improve the app.
Third-Party Services
LensBite uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Remote Config, Cloud Functions) — firebase.google.com
- A third-party AI provider (food image analysis)
- Google Play Billing (payment processing) — play.google.com
Data Retention
Your scan history is stored in Firestore and remains accessible as long as your account exists. Local data is stored in an SQLite database on your device.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all Firestore data and your Firebase Auth account.
Data Security
- API keys are stored in Google Secret Manager — never in the app or source code
- ADB backup is disabled to prevent local data extraction
- Cleartext HTTP traffic is blocked
- Subscription status can only be modified by our backend — not by the app directly
Children's Privacy
LensBite is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
